Regression — Tutorial 4.pdf
Solve part (a) — the variance of the residual error.
Since the residuals depend on the fitted line, they aren't independent. For an individual residual:
Var(ri) = σ²(1 − 1/n − (xi − x̄)² / Sxx)
So the spread shrinks near the mean of x. Want part (b) next?

AI Assistant

Ask your own PDFs. Get real answers.

Attach any resource from your courses and the assistant reads it — solving tutorial problems, explaining a proof, or summarizing a notes dump. It knows your semester, so answers stay in your context, not the internet's.

  • Reads your uploaded PDFs
Attach a resource and ask about it directly — math and formulas render properly.
  • Remembers the conversation
Multi-turn chats with saved history — pick up where you left off, per topic.
  • Knows your semester
Aware of your courses and attendance — no re-explaining your setup every time.
Attendance

The math is done. You just tap.

Mark a class in two seconds. Get a real-time read on whether you're safe, plus a precise count of how many bunks you have left before the 75% bar hits.

  • Cancelled classes don't count
We exclude them from the denominator. The way your college actually calculates it.
  • Custom thresholds
75%, 80%, or whatever's required for your program. Per-course overrides too.

Made by me

Free. No catch. No "pro" tier.

Built solo by a student, for students. StudSpace will always be free — sign up with email or Google, no institution verification required, no paywalled features. Ever.

Built solo, between classes

A personal project born out of real frustration — scattered notes, missed attendance counts, no single place to track it all. Built alone, one feature at a time.

Tiny infra footprint

Everything runs on a single small server. Link resources from anywhere — Drive, YouTube, GitHub — or upload PDFs directly. Your call.

Free for everyone. No verification. No card. No "upgrade for X" nag.

Questions, briefly.

What can the AI study assistant actually do?

Attach a PDF from your courses and it reads it — solving tutorial questions, explaining a concept, or summarizing notes, with formulas rendered properly. It's aware of your semester and courses, remembers the conversation, and keeps history per chat.

Does the AI see all my notes? Are they used for training?

Only what you choose. A resource's content is sent to the model when you attach it to a chat — nothing is scanned in the background. Your data isn't sold, and private semesters stay private; you decide what's public, per semester.

Does the attendance calculator match my college's 75% rule?

Usually yes — cancelled classes are excluded from the denominator, the way most colleges count it, and the threshold is configurable. Set a global default or override it per course, and it tells you exactly how many classes you can still skip.

How do I add resources I already have?

Two ways: paste any link (Google Drive, YouTube, GitHub — anything with a URL) and it's added as-is, or upload a PDF directly. Everything lands under the right course, tagged and searchable.

Is it really free — and do I need a college email?

Free, and no. Sign up with any email or with Google — no card, no institution verification, no paywalled features or "pro" tier.

Spend the semester studying.
Not organizing the studying.
